Going to be out of town or on vacation? Create an auto-response email! When you're going to be unreachable for a period of time, auto-response messages will notify users that you're not checking email so that they know why they aren't getting responses. Here's how to create an auto-response message:
1. Click the Gears icon located at the upper right corner of the email interface and select the Mail Tab.
2. Under the Preferences link, click on the checkbox next to Enable Auto-Reply. (When checked, your auto-reply message will be sent to everyone who sends you an email.)
3. Click on the checkbox next to Auto-Reply once to sender. (If Auto-Reply is enabled and this box is checked, an auto-reply will only be sent once to the sender).
5. Type the email addresses of the person(s) whom you do not want to receive the auto-reply message in the box provided. Each email address must be separated by a semi-colon (;).
7. Write the message you want to be automatically sent in the Auto-Reply Message field.
8. Click on the Save button to implement the auto-reply service.
