App passwords enhance security in several ways:
- Unique per App: Each application you use gets a unique app password, limiting potential exposure if a password is compromised.
- Limited Access: App passwords only grant access to the specific data that an app needs, such as email, calendar data, or contacts. Even if an app password is stolen, it cannot be used to change your account settings or password.
- Revocable: If a device is lost or stolen, you can revoke the app password associated with it without having to change your primary password and affect all other applications.
